Video Update from Team Zayith in K-land

Written by media. Posted in SVM

We have a very special video update from our student missionaries (SM’s) in K-land!

Please watch the video and lift up the sisters of Team Zayith so the Lord will continue to bless their feet as they take the Good News around K-land, and anoint their mouth as they proclaim and preach the message of the Son!  And please pray for “Sister N” who recently received the Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior!

SVM: Now recruiting workers for the Harvest Field!

I. ELIGIBILITY

All Student Missionary (SM) applicants must:

1. Be at least 18 years of age

2. Commit to one year of ministry on the field

3. Have attended at least one year of college or university. If the applicant has no plans for higher education, he or she must serve a local campus through Vision School or comparative ministry.

We highly encourage high school graduates who have no plans of attending college to commit as a 2-year short-term missionary rather than serving a 1-year term as a student missionary.

Reasons for Requirements:

1. The Student Volunteer Movement (SVM) is a campus church-planting movement. The lifestyle you must live on the field will mimic one of a student. The people you will be serving will be students. In order to understand your ministry as a student missionary, you must be trained to live as a disciple within a campus or community-oriented setting.

2. SVM is a personal commitment to God. The commitment you make as a missionary should follow the principles of discipleship, which binds you to the authority of Christ before any other authority line. You will be responsible for all actions and decisions you make as a student missionary.

3. You are a student missionary on and off the field. Your identity as a missionary roots from a commitment to live an obedient life for Jesus Christ. You are not a missionary simply because you are going to another country.

4. You will be trained through hardship (Hebrews 12). Many people give the excuse that living as a disciple in America is hard so they depend on the field to change their life. However, when you escape hardship from the start, you will also be prone to escape hardship on the field. You are first and foremost a worker for the field. This means that any personal gain or benefits you want to earn from this experience is secondary to your commitment to be a worker for that nation as Christ’ Disciple.
